Vet Camp
(Wednesdays in June and July
Ages: 9-12
# of spots: 6
Time: 9-3:30
Price: $99
Vet camp is a fun-filled day of education that is geared toward those who have an interest in veterinarian or animal care fields of study. Campers will join our veterinarians in the lab where they can observe our vets doing animal procedures (such as general physical exams on a healthy animal, blood draws, or even an exam to assess the health of a rescue/rehab patient for Gulf World Marine Institute) and will be able to ask questions and discuss observations with our vet staff. They will learn basic anatomy with fun activities, observation techniques that our animal care staff use each day to assess the health and well-being of our animals, and even participate in a mock animal rescue to see what it is like when our volunteers are called out to help a stranded animal. Campers will also attend our Sea Lion and Dolphin shows for even more entertaining and educational opportunities.
Campers will receive a lunch of sliced pizza (cheese or pepperoni), a popcorn snack, a reusable water bottle, a camp t-shirt, and downloadable photos from the day.
